Chuck and Vesna Allison
Vesna and I are delighted to join Denise and Jay Whitehurst, Betty and Ted Eidson and others as charter members of Lake Highland's Legacy Society. We firmly believe that a deferred gift to Lake Highland does the following important things:
- Enables LHPS to improve upon the legacy of providing a superior education for our children and grandchildren
- Provides long-term resources that will insure the highest standards for both academic programs and school facilities
- Gives us an opportunity to show our gratitude for the many blessings this school has provided our family, especially our children
Our gift of Life Insurance
For our family, a gift of life insurance seemed a logical and effective choice. We were able to purchase a whole life policy for a fraction of the full benefit. We named Lake Highland as the owner and beneficiary. This will accomplish the following:
- A generous gift to Lake Highland in the future—more than we could give out of current income or savings.
- The insurance assets are out of our estate and therefore not subject to estate tax.
- Creates a permanent endowment fund at Lake Highland named for our family and restricted to purposes meaningful to us.
Other Possible Gifts
A wide variety of deferred gifts can be made to Lake Highland. You might consider:
- Naming LHPS as the beneficiary of an IRA
- A simple bequest provision in your will
- A charitable remainder trust
- A charitable lead trust
No gift is more powerful—for both the donor and the charity—than a deferred gift. Its impact is long lasting. We hope you will join us in thinking through your charitable objectives and your estate planning.
